I have the usb-c dock g5, p/n 5tw10ut#aba paired with an HP EliteBook x360 G8 Notebook and the docking station works in terms of displaying monitors however ethernet rarely ever works on first plug in to the laptop. I need to unplug and replug in the docking station maybe 5-10 times before everything works correctly.
Besides the ethernet not working immediately the other issue is that Windows is constantly audibly notifying that it didn't recognize the USB device. I selected the option for Windows to stop notifying about the unrecognized G5 docking station however the audible sound for the notifications still occur. Similar to the ethernet issue, if I unplug and replug in the docking station eventually Windows will recognize it but its a real pain. The other morning I think I spent 30 minutes unplugging and replugging in the docking station before it worked.
FIrmware on the G5 is version 1.0.18.0 - 123661, Driver is 10.0.22621.2506
