HP USB-C Dock G5
Microsoft Windows 11

I've recently purchased a G5 dock to use with my G1i Elitebook (Intel Arc 140V). I went for the G5 version that uses Thunderbolt (26D32AA). I also bought a new 1440 monitor which is capable of refresh rates up to 180hz, connected through the G5 via DP. I also have a second 1080 monitor running at 60hz, connected through the G5 via HDMI.

When I first plugged the dock into the laptop, my 1440 monitor gave me 180hz with 6-bit colour depth (confirmed on monitor and windows). The next time I turned the laptop on after shutdown on it changed to 144hz with 8-bit colour depth. I thought this was a good balance so was happy. Now after another restart, windows is telling me I'm at 144hz with 6-bit colour depth. The 1080 monitor has maintained 60hz at 8-bit throughout.

I'm not sure why the 1440 monitor output has been changing. Will the G5 try to optimise itself? I would ideally like to get 144hz at 8-bit as a minimum. Has anyone else seen a similar issue?
