HP Elitebook 650G9 and HP G5 USBC dock
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

starting recently, probably around a month ago, my HP G5 USB C dock completely disconnects from my Elitebook 650 G9 (audible USB disconnect tones heard). Nothing in event viewer and usually it connects back up around 10 seconds later. When this happens I lose everything from the dock. Network, mouse and keyboard, dual monitors, and other peripherals.

I updated the firmware for both my monitors and the dock with no luck. All drivers seem to be up to date on my device including USB… I see nothing logged in event viewer. I was thinking the dock itself but the weird thing is I have another at my other office and it does the same thing at least once a day.
I seem to notice it happen when the laptop is busy like if I’m working on multiple items today and then I jumped into a zoom meeting and almost immediately everything disconnected.

any ideas?

@NateNerd

Please download and install Audio Driver for the dock

 Hope this helps.

Regards.

@banhien I will try this. Has my behavior been reported when this driver is missing?

Tried this on some of our 459-g8 and 650-g9 computers. It has not corrected any. Updating the firmware on the G5 USB-c docking station will not correct the disconnect either.

Hello,

any other ideas? It was good for a week and just reoccurred.
