What is the power socket called (mine does not fit the the unit)?

Hello.

 

The power connector size is 7.4 mm, standard HP power supply connector of the era. The power supply should be rated 18.5V / 65W.

 

Please note that there is a slot for a cable lock mechanism that is about the same size as the power connector and many have incorrectly tried to connect it there... Refer to the HP specifications document for more details about your dock.

Thank you Jupitero thats it. I( read somewhere that it was the same size as my Elitebook 840, but that's not true

Hello again.

 

There have been many many generations of Elitebook 840. The original Elitebook 840 and the second gen (G2) had the same power connector as the Ultraslim dock has. The later models then transitioned to a smaller 4.5mm plug and latest models are USB-C only.
