Hello
I use a HP 2013 UltraSlim-Dockingstation (the dual Display Port one) with an Elitebook Folio 9470m.
I have a boot password enabled.
Sadly I do not get any video output from the Dockingstation until the OS-Splashscreen appears. All bios Video out, including the Boot PW-Screen, are not visible on the external Monitor. The monitor recognises that there is something attached and powers on, then it displays the message that there is no signal from Displayport and powers back down. Only when the OS Boot screen is shown, the monitor powers back up and shows the OS Boot Screen (I guess at this time the OS graphic driver takes over from the UEFI video output).
Do you know what I can do to fix this?
I found there was a Firmwareupdate for this Dockingstation available not to long ago, but it seems no longer downloadable from the HP support page.
The error is pretty annoying especially when I'd like to change some UEFI settings or enter my boot password.
Looking forward to Answers
Best regards
Z

The latest version of FW for the Ultra Slim Dock is 2.33
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp79001-79500/sp79015.exe
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp79001-79500/sp79015.html
Read the HTML file first as it will explain in detail how to update the FW on the Dock.

Hi Joel
Thanks for your answer.
After first bricking my dockingstation and then fixing it, the update of the firmware is installed.
Sadly it did not help. I still experience the same issues as I described above.
Funny ennough, if I plug the Displayport directly into the Notebook while it is docked, I get the displayoutput even in boot.
So the issue is limited to the displayports on the dock.
Do you have any idea what else I could try to fix this?
Best regards

Hello
when 9470m was release the UltraSLim Docking was not the 2013 version but the 2012, which had only one DisplayPort connector, whereas 2013 version has two displayPort connectors.
IF you have the 2013 one ,try to change the DisplayPort connector and see if sometyhing changes.
