Hello, I want to register a complaint for a laptop I have a problem with.
About 1.5 years ago, I bought 4x hp 255 g8 ryzen3 5000 series laptops.
And since the beginning they were plagued by problems, random restarts all the time. Luckily it seems some later bios updates fixed this problem, because they are working fine now except one.
One of them, since the beginning had a weird problem, where when you want to access the mic be it over some app like skype or simply checking it in control panel, the laptop would turn off the screen and lock up, after that I need to kill it by holding the power on key. also small graphic artifact are noticed when looking at black pattern, snow like effect.
First time it went to the service center it was about 2 weeks after it was bought, they diagnosed a bad board, and I waited about a month for the new board to arrive.
After that the laptop was used for few months and later stored in a box, a year later I opened it to test something and noticed the same problem.
I sent it to the service center again, this time they did a "hard reset" and cleaned the mic contacts, that was 3 months ago, since then it was in the box, and I turned it on maybe 5 times until I noticed the same problem again. Now it's going to the service center again, but the problem will obviously happen again, there's something wrong with the firmware I suppose.
Tried reinstalling win10 and 11, latest bios, nothing helps. It's not an OS problem.
This is absurd the laptop was used actively total less than 5 months, and it's going to be serviced 3 times already.
The warranty will expire in about half a year, and I'm not going to pay for it to get fixed when it malfunctions again.
I demand a replacement or refund.
