Hi,

Having problem accessing my computers BIOS setting. It asks for a BIOS Admin-password which I don't have. Is there a way to reset the BIOS so I can access the setting, or is it working by take out and reinsert the CMOS-battery? How can I fix this?

Hi, Ellie:

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP quit supplying the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That is the only way it could be done.

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with providing unlock codes, etc., to clear BIOS passwords. Rule 4.d...
