HP PROBOOK 450 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi to everyone,

i bought an usb-C Adapter for my HP 450 G5, but I have some problems with the ethernet and HDMI port on the dongle.

All the ports worked fine but after few time only HDMI port and Ethernet ports stopped working. On another laptop, same model and same update the adapter work fine for all the ports.

Is it a driver problem? Anyone can help me?

this is the usb-c adapter: https://www.amazon.com/VAVA-Adapter-Delivery-Ethernet-MacBook/dp/B079GSMZ7G

thanks in advance.

Hello @bugioal,

Perhaps a BIOS update?

it is impossible to tell how a 3rd party usb-c hub will work with different computers... the usb-c (usb 3.1) standard is pretty complex and you could have timing and other issues that would need troubleshooting to figure out... this is a more complex standard than the old usb 3.0 standard

in any case, i would recommend you run HP Image Assistant (www.hp.com/go/clientmanagement) and let it tell you what may need to be updated, and go ahead with those updates
