According to the specification 840 G3 should come with TPM 1.2 chip upgradable to 2.0. There is even a security bulletin that covers this topic.
Unfortunately in my case the Windows doesn't see any TPM module. In device manager I don't see any Security devices. msinfo32 is reporting that TPM is not usable, tpm.msc is reporting that compatible TPM could not be found.
On the other side in the BIOS, Security tab, I've TPM Device as Available, TPM State as checked.
However there is a line TPM Specification Version that is just empty. I've seen somewhere a picture with at least a value of 1.2.
I've tried everything - rollback BIOS to any version that comes with any TPM fixes, load newest BIOS, restore defaults. Nothing helps.
Is my TPM damaged in some way? Or maybe I'm missing something?

Yes, you can upgrade to TPM 2.0 for your machine. Please use the following Guide

Unfortunately, I can not. However, this is not the original problem.
Read carefully what I wrote earlier.
If I try to update I get an error message: TPM not connected or TPM not found. RC= 0xe0295008.

Hello.
Your BIOS should show the version - 1.2 or 2.0 - so something is not working correctly with your computer. Has it ever worked?
If all the BIOS options to clear TPM do nothing / do not help, I can't really think anything else but the Power Reset procedure or just removing the battery for a few minutes to let all (residual) power to drain out. Neither procedure will harm your laptop or delete any data.
The TPM chip is embedded on your laptop motherboard and replacing it would require either replacing the whole board or obtaining an identical chip and advanced soldering skills.

I'm not sure if this ever worked correctly. I never paid attention to it and didn't use any correlated functionality (like disk encryption etc.). I just noticed it and got interested.
The power reset procedure was done few weeks ago - I was replacing battery due to extensive wear.
