Hi,

I bought a used  Elitebook 8770W Workstation notebook. It has got an ADMIN password. I wrote about a bin file what I must ask from HP, but I don't find contact to hungarian support. Can anybody get an email address or a technical support contact to ask for help?

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

 

That was the only way it could be done.

 

Removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.

Also the forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.

Rule 4.d...

 

d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.
