Hello
I have a question regarding the HP Dock G5 docking station. I own an HP ZBook G6 laptop and would like to purchase a docking station for it. I have the option to purchase the HP DOCK G5 HSN-IX02 USB-C Thunderbolt station only that it is without the power adapter. And here my question is whether the power supply I currently have with the laptop will be able to power the said docking station. In addition to the laptop, I also intend to connect a 27-inch monitor. Please help or possibly give me a hint as to which power supply will be sufficient.

Regards

From manual (page 5), it is compatible with the following docks

  • HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2
  • HP Thunderbolt Docking Station
  • HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2
  • HP Elite USB-C Dock G5

HP has  (a) HP USB-C G5 dock (b) HP USB-C G5 essential dock and (c) HP Elite USB-C Dock G5 ....  My dock is HP USB-C G5 (5TW10AA) dock. Well confusion isn't it.

Back to your question, my dock is compatible with my zBook 14 G10 machine which has 2 Thunderbolt™ 4 ports.

The dock you are asking is   https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/hp-usb-c-dock-g5-26d32aa.html

          and mine                         https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/hp-usb-c-dock-g5-5tw10aa.html
