The charger I have is a third party one and doesn't output enough power causing the backlight to turn off and flicker, and it makes the laptop keep switching between battery mode and charging mode because the charger doesn't give enough power. What is a good replacement charger that should work that isn't expensive? I don't wanna have to spend above 15 dollars if possible.

Hello Echang,

The HP Pavilion dv6105us uses a AC adapter (65 watt) - Input voltage 110-240VAC, 50-60Hz, 19.5V, 3.33A DC output, RC/V, non-smart pin, with power factor correction (PFC) - (For use in all countries and regions) with HP Spare Part number 693715-001.

You can then use the HP Spare part number(s) in the HP Parts store hereYou may also be able to find it elsewhere on the Internet.

I found one here: https://www.amazon.com/Replacement-693715-001-677770-001-677770-002-677770-003/dp/B01C5FI9EG

If you're looking to also replace the power cord, here's the part number: 490371-001

Also just want to advise you that if this AC adapter doesn't solve the issue, I feel like there's a bigger hardware issue.

Hope this answers your question,

Eddy

Hello Echang,

I can try to find a cheap, authentic charger for your computer, but a specific model/product number would be appreciated. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Forum)

Information on how to find a laptop's model/product number is detailed in this HP document.

Regards,

Eddy

Also, are there any bios updates that I would need to do if I were to upgrade the CPU to a Dual Core processor? Or is it just not possible.
