I have had my HP Envy for less than 1.5 years, having trust in HP brand after my previous Pavillion unit lasting through most of my university studies. I took great care of it and making sure it’s always in a perfect condition as it was a gift from my late aunt and a very expensive laptop. Until last couple months when the left hinge suddenly broke when i gently opened the screen. Something must’ve snagged internally as my screen started to split from the back cover. I checked with a HP service centre at Pavilion Bukit Jalil branch and they quoted me a price of RM800 which is almost a month worth of salary for me. I can’t afford to lose my laptop right after graduating, paying my student loan and being in between jobs. I’ve been searching through alternative solutions because I need this laptop to apply for jobs and I just found out that broken hinge on the HP Envy series is a well known issue and discovered that it is actually a design flaw. It is unfair having to cover such ridiculous repair cost when it is nothing of my fault. So any help regarding this is greatly appreciated. Thank you 😔😔
