Product: HP Elite x2 1012 G1 Tablet with Travel Keyboard
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I have an HP Elite x2 1012 G1 laptop.
I recently purchased an Anker PowerExpand 13-in-1 USB-C Dock (described on Amazon as an Anker 575 USB-C Docking Station (13-in-1)), to replace my existing HP Elite USB-C docking station (which seems to overheat or otherwise behave intermittently which is extremely frustrating as your screen blinks off in the middle of working!)
With the Anker dock, I get good data, video and audio connection through the dock, with my laptop plugged in to the Upstream USB-C port with the USB-C to USB-C cable supplied for the purpose. However, the laptop does not charge.
I do not understand why, as my laptop charged through the USB-C port with my old HP dock. The laptop also charges through the USB-C port with the standalone power supply supplied with the laptop (the Elite x2 does not have a separate socket/port for a power adaptor so can only charge through the USB-C port). Both my old HP dock and the standalone power supply work at 85W which I understand is the rating at which the Anker dock works.
Interestingly, the Anker dock works perfectly with, including charging, another HP laptop I have, so it doesn't seem to a defect with the dock or cable.
Is anyone aware of any compatibility issues between the Anker dock and the Elite x2 or other laptops? Is there any setting or change that I may need to make on my laptop? Is there anything else I can try?
I'm grateful for any suggestions!
