@nimre, Thank you for choosing HP. We know how unsettling it can feel when your EliteBook 840 G5 keeps asking for a firmware update but doesn’t move forward. Let’s try a few steps together that may smooth things out:

  • Visit our support page where you can see and download the latest firmware update designed for your model.

  • In April, HP released a system firmware update (HP Q78). You can download the update using this link and then restart your PC to apply the fix.

We want your PC to feel stable and reliable again, and we’ll stay with you until it does.
