I work in an enterprise setting and all of our HP Elitebook 840 G9s that have updated to BIOS 1.12.01 have stopped charging or had charging issues. Unplugging the battery, holding the power button to power drain it works for a little bit but the issue continues. Rolling back the BIOS seems like a solution, but upon reboot Windows alerts me that I need to restart and installs 1.12.01 again. We have sent a few in for warranty work and they are replacing the system boards. Does anyone have a better solution?

Same here. The only solution provided by HP support is to replace the motherboard. This is inconvenient because the laptop could be inactive for 10 days, which impacts our workload. We already have 3 cases with the Elitebook 840 G9. When will they release a BIOS update to fix this? Why is version 1.12.01, which caused these problems, no longer available? I have found several threads about the same issue in this forum. I hope HP is working on a solution and will provide it soon.

Same here After troubleshooting with their customer support. They Recommend replace mainboard. even when downgraded to BIOS version 1.11.1.0.5. It's affecting our fleet of 840 G9.

Even with BIOS update to version 1.12.02, we have already had at least one Laptop with charging issues.

I have the same issue, I call for services and as soon I said that, they will send a tech to replace board, it looks like is a bug in the BIOS, and my question is; replacing the board will fix the issue? or will be and upgrade board with the new BIOS updated....
