Hello,
We are currently using a large fleet of HP EliteBooks (primarily 845/855 G11 models) with HP USB-C G5 Docks. Since upgrading from the G9 to G11 generation, we have been experiencing a major issue with external monitor flickering.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
- Replaced HDMI and DisplayPort cables
- Swapped the USB-C cable between the dock and laptop
- Tested with new monitore
- Exchanged for new docks
- Replaced motherboards and deployed brand-new notebooks
Despite these measures, the problem persists. The flickering causes screens to go black for a few seconds, occurring anywhere from every 2–3 minutes to just once a day
We would appreciate any insights or solutions to resolve this issue.

Try updating the dock firmware to the latest version.
