We have several Elitebook G8s that from time to time stops charging from their docking stations.
Generally you can hold down the power button for 20 secs to get rid of the problem, but it has started happening to often to ignore and the users are not happy.
We have a mix of several generations of Elitebooks, but only G8s seems to be affected.
They have the latest BIOS Version/Date HP T76 Ver. 01.11.00
The docks are a mix of HP USB-C G5s and HP Thunderbolt G2s
Any ideas?

I'm at a company that has over 150 employees and we have about 40 employees that have the Elitebook G8's 850's, 840's, and some 830's. They are all using a G5 USB-C HP Dock.
Just in the past 2 weeks we are having the same issue. But, while having the wired connections through the dock, it is also experiencing wired network loss and getting "globed" and forced onto wifi. We have 9 systems effected so far, mostly G8 850, then some G8 840's, and 1 surface laptop.
we made sure the bios was updated and are all on version HP T76 Ver. 01.11.00. We have verified we are on the latest firmware and network drivers for the G5 USB-C hub and we that we are on the newest firmware/drivers for the G8's as well. we even used HP Image Assistant to verify and also manually pulled down G5 Hub drivers to make sure we were covering our bases. something is very wrong, and we could use any help that can be given.
Thanks -

We are also experiencing this issue with at least 6 of 13 EliteBook 850 G8s. We have reached out to HP and they were unable to resolve it yet either. It is not a persistent issue for all of the devices, it has been happening on and off randomly for about 3 months. We attempted troubleshooting with different versions/combinations of BIOS, drivers, and dock firmware.
