Hi, can someone help me, I have HP elitebook 840 g7 and am looking to get a docking station but struggling to get answers as to what one is compatible with my laptop.  Hoping someone can answer my question

Just FYI: I'm using USB-C Gen 5 dock with my Elitebook 840 G5 right now and I've got SINGLE cable connection.

 

With the lid closed, when I switch on the dock it will switch on my machine, when I swith off machine, the dock will also off. The dock also charges my machine.
