We have tried the preinstalled OS and a custom image. Both the preinstalled OS and the custom image encounter the "EndPoint Controller error." We have set a BIOS password. A new BIOS version was released on Friday 11/5. We have updated the BIOS on all 20 laptops- no change.

Hello
my opinion is that before the replace 20 motherboards, HP should try to understand what is wrong contacting you.
I see that some HP agents sometime contact the customer, so this is , for me , a case that should be taken in consideration.
Could you try to remove the BIOS password to at least on 1 unit and see if the error 0x6001 disappears ?
Thanks

Hello
no I dont know .
If I were I would call back HP post-sales support in your country (where are you ?) and ask to escalate the issue istead of replacing 20 motherboard on new units.
As I read same issue on Elitebook 845 G8 in another post and 845 G( and 455 G8 use the same AMD chipset, probably there is something in newest BIOS version as nobody complained for same issue in past months, at least in this forum. Mine is just a logical assumption due to several decades on troubleshooting.
bye

I also got this screen on a brand new laptop.
The computer was running W10 in the evening when I left and in the morning this screen appeared.
After I hit ok it went to the boot screen "Protected by HP Sure Start" and it stuck there. I had to reboot the computer to get out of it and since then I never have seen this screen again, but I guess it will show up again later.
So what is causing this issue?
