Hello Rebecca_Rebian,
Good day. Thank you for reaching out to the Hp community. I would be delighted to assist you. Superb description and terrific troubleshooting. Kudos to you for that.

If you are experiencing poor facial recognition performance on your HP EliteBook 640 G11, here are some steps you can take to potentially improve the functionality:

  1. Check Camera and Lighting Conditions:

    • Ensure that the environment has good lighting. Direct sunlight or very dim lighting can hinder facial recognition.
    • Make sure the camera lens is clean and unobstructed.
  2. Update Drivers:

    • Check for updates for your camera drivers. Having the latest drivers can improve performance and compatibility.
    • Visit the HP Support website to find and install any available updates for your model.
  3. Re-Register Face Data:

    • Delete the existing face data and re-register your face to improve accuracy. This can help accommodate any changes in appearance or lighting conditions.
  4. System Updates:

    • Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date, as updates often include improvements to system features like facial recognition.
  5. Check Configuration:

    • Make sure Windows Hello Face Recognition is correctly configured in your system settings. Navigate to 'Sign-in options' in the settings menu and ensure the facial recognition option is set up and active.
  6. Camera Privacy Settings:

    • Verify that your camera's privacy cover is not obstructing the view and that privacy settings in Windows do not restrict camera usage for facial recognition.
  7. Windows Troubleshooter:

    • Use the built-in Windows Troubleshooter tool to automatically detect and fix any issues with the camera hardware or software.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, consider reaching out to HP Support for further assistance.
