Windows Update in Windows 11 23H2 prompted me to download and install HP Firmware version 1.26.0.0. My system is running on BIOS version R91 version 1.25.0.0

I downloaded and reboot. However, the firmware do not get installed correctly. Every time, when I reboot my system, it will stated that your system is being updated momentarily. After completed reboot, there will be a notification stated that reboot is required to install HP Firmware R91.

when I visit HP driver download site, there is no BIOs version 1.26.0.0 available. The latest is 1.25.0 for Windows 11 22H2. There is no BIOS update for windows 11 23H2.

i also checked Microsoft Update catalog, and there in no HP Firmware 1.26.0.0 as well.

where on Earth I can download BIOS version 1.26.0.0 for Windows 11 23 H2?

For now, what I do is reverted my system using my full system. Backup (backed up by EaseUS Todo Backup) to before I download and installl the HP Firmware update 1.26.00. And everything go back to normal.

The update 1.36.0.0 still show up in Windows Updates - advanced Setting, but I do not check to select and install

help,please. Where can I download the BIOS 1.26.0.0for Elite X2 G4?

problem with zbook:

- windows 11, 23H2 waits to be installed

- automatic bios update to 01.26.00 started out of nowhere

- zbook shut down several times and didn't reboot automatically

What to do?

Is that you update to HP Firmware 1.26.0.0 from Windows Update?

Since HP Firmware Update 1.26.0.0 for HP Elite X2 G4 is not available on HP official drivers and software update site (only 1.25.0.0 for Windows 11 22H2 is available),

when I look for HPFirmware on Windows Update Catalog, there is an HP Firmware 1.26.0.0 but it’s very old, dated in 2018. There is none of new 1.26.0.0 HP firmware on the site

i suspect that Windows Update get confused with version 1.26.0.0 and offer me to update my version 1.25.0.0 firmware. However, the 1.26.0.0 HP firmware is old and not for HP Elit3 X2 G4

after download, the installation will never be completed after restart, this is because the firmware 1.26.0.0 from Windows Update is not for updating firmware 1.25.0.0 for Elite X2 G4. And that’s why Windows ask me to reboot to install the update repeatedly after restart.

If 2.26.0"0 is released for Elite X2 G4, the firmware or bios must be available on HP official drivers download site.

I do hope that Microsoft or HP staff will read my post here, look into this and fix this mess

HP has released firmware 1.26.0.0 For BIOS version R70 and R91 yesterday on their Official Drivers and Software download site. r91 is for HP Wlite C2 G4 that I own. The update process went smoothly and successful.

After restart, I go to Windows Updates - Advanced Option the HP Firmware 1.26.0.0 still show up. I selected it and install. After that a message show up that the installation is completed, and the HP Firmware 1.25.0.0 no longer present in Windows Update,

the conclusion is,there is a problem installingbHP Firmware from Windows Update. next t8me, just wait for HP to release the Firmware update on their site and install from there
