HP G5 Essential Dock

Hello,

we have the following scenario: We use EIZO 2416W with Displayport 1.1. They are working on the "old" G5 Docks, but with the "newer" G5 Essential Docks we have the issue, that the screen is recognized and also audio is working and you can see it properly in the device manager, but the screen stays black.

Is there any known issue with these docks on a DP 1.1 screen?

We tried to update the firmware to the latest version, nothing changed.
I also tried a bunch of different devices: Probook 435 x360 G7; Elitebook 850 G7; Fujitsu U7511; Probook 455 G8

Hi, I've found the solution:

You need to disable Displayport Hotplug.

Turn the screen off, then hold the up button while pressing the power on button.

Now the "Displayport" appears with a grey background instead of black.

I've had the exact same problem now on two different occations. I was using a new G5 Essential Dock in combination with an EliteBook x360 G2 / EliteBook G8 and an Eizo 2216W. While Windows recognized the monitor in the display settings, the screen just remained black. With the original G5 docks, I never experienced this problem.

Strangely enough, the problem seems not to be consistent. The same docks that brought up the problem worked just fine in other situations with other monitors.

Just a little heads up: I couldn't find a real solution to the problem (which I'm still encountering occasionally), but I found a workaround. When using the DVI-port on the monitor with a DVI-to-DisplayPort cable, it works fine.

I've found the same workaround, but this can't be a solution.
