Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Support,

I encountered this HP Image Assistant kept on detecting same drivers in Windows 10 22H2. How to resolve these issues

Thanks

Victor

Hi @VictorNg

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for reaching out—and I totally get how annoying it is when a tool keeps flagging the same drivers over and over.

Let’s walk through a few steps to help settle this loop and get HP Image Assistant (HPIA) working smoothly again. 🛠

🔄 Step 1: Clear HPIA Cache and Logs

Sometimes leftover data causes repeated detections:

  1. Navigate to C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\HPImageAssistant.
  2. Delete the Cache and Logs folders.
  3. Restart HPIA and run a fresh analysis.

🧠 Step 2: Use a Reference File to Lock Driver Versions

Creating a reference file helps HPIA recognize installed drivers as valid:

🧰 Step 3: Reinstall HPIA with Latest Version

Make sure you’re using the most up-to-date release:

Uninstall the current version first, then reinstall fresh.

🧪 Step 4: Manually Verify Driver Installation

Sometimes HPIA flags drivers that are already installed but not properly registered:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Right-click the flagged device > Properties > Driver tab.
  3. Confirm the version matches what HPIA recommends.
  4. If it does, you can safely ignore the repeated detection.

Let me know how it goes—whether the loop breaks or if we need to dig deeper. You’re doing all the right things, and we’ll get this sorted together! 💪😊
