Today i woke up and went to use my gaming computer to do some work. I had stutters and flickers that weren't normal so i checked task manager. Only to find 100% of both my RAM and CPU being used by a supposed insatll of an update for the "HP Omen Install Monitor" program. This was because it had opened up about 600 copies of the program and was running it at once. The only way to stop it was to fiddle with my startups. Ever since this, not a single game will open and my computer is running terribly. Does some fine person at HP want to explain to me why I, along with many others have had to deal with this? Is HP going to replace my computer if i can't fix it? Will i even get a response to this message? I've just had to jump through hoops to even be able to post here, and to be honest, i would prefer if there was an avenue to call to file an official complaint. I want this fixed. ASAP. Before litigation has to be taken. I am over multi-million/billion dollar companies being unable to do the simplest things without royaly messing it up.

Just rename the .exe file it's opening, uninstall the Omen Gaming Hub app, then open command prompt as Admin and type

"taskkill /F /IM OmenInstallMonitor.exe"

This will kill all open instances of that task. And since the Hub is gone and the file is renamed it won't be able to open more. To be thorough id restart your PC after doing this.

I had the same exact situation as EasyMac200. The amount of errors and malfunctions this caused my computer was beyond frustrating. The work around Justmadethisfor posted has caused my computer to work again. BUT, that's besides the point. I don't know what type of damage this has done to my computer. The HPs customers deserve a statement about the cause of this, its damages etc.

Please.

I want to make this clear. I had already fixed the issue with the 600 programs runningh and frying my hardware. Since then however, i have experienced constant crashing, had to uninstall and reinstall most of my other apps, and ran into multiple instances of Microsoft Windows not responding for hours at a time. I want answers to why this happened.

I have called and been hung up on by customer service agents, and have looked everywhere for a way to put in a formal complaint. My $2500 gaming PC is now working extremely sub-optimaly due to this virus of a program.

If i do not get a real answer within the next week, i will be taking legal action against HP. You are supposed to be a professional company, yet nothing about this has been professional. HP Omen and it's programs are responsible for damages to my hardware, and i want a resolution.

If for example, this was a faulty power supply that had destroyed my PC, I would fully expect that the maker of the power supply would make things right. Here is your opportunity to make things right, and if not, I will be making contact in the form of litigation.
