HP EliteBook 840 G1

I want to call HP's attention to a issue affecting the EliteBook G1 laptop series.

I have installed the latest version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI on a HP EliteBook 840 G1, version 9.0.0.0.

When I tried to access the diagnostics, by pressing F2 during boot up, the display got all scrambled.

I then downgraded the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to version 7.7.1.0. I got the exact same result, the interface is all scrambled.

I looked online and found other HP users with the same problem, they reported that it stopped working on EliteBook G1 laptop series since version 7.6.0.0.

I followed the advice and installed version 7.6.0.0, and it works.

Ideally I would like a update that addresses this issue, since HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI can be quite useful.

I found this topic, from two years ago, of someone reporting the exact same problem: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/How-to-downgrade-HP-Diagnostics...

The problem has been around for a while, does HP know about this?
