HP ProBook 440 G6 Base Model Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 11
  1. Purchased refurbished HP ProBook 440 G6.
  2. Installed Windows 11 Pro (clean install).
  3. Installed various software to replace old laptop.
  4. A few days later after a lot of use and trouble free operation, I updated the BIOS, even though there weren't any issues with the laptop.
  5. BIOS was 01.15.00 before the update.
  6. Updated to HP Firmware Pack (R71), 01.19.00 Rev.A
    1. https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp137001-137500/sp137158.exe
  7. After about 30-60 minutes of use the LAPTOP would completely freeze.  It would not resume after about 5 minutes of waiting.  Had to hold the power button down until it shut down.  Then it would start fine and run for 30-60 minutes again, and then repeat.
  8. Downgraded to HP Firmware Pack (R71), 01.18.00 Rev.A
    1. https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp136501-137000/sp136533.exe
  9. Repeat of step #7.
  10. Found older version of BIOS here:
    1. https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp103501-104000/sp103677.html
    2. https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp103501-104000/sp103677.exe
  11. After 01.11.00 was installed, I have no more freezing after 30-60 minutes.  Hopefully this is resolved, and I will update this post if anything changes.  I don't know how to provide debug information to you, but hopefully this issue can be corrected in the next BIOS update for R71.

Note: I tried to assign "Bios Issue" or "System" labels, but was prevented from doing so.  Must be because I am a new user?  Hopefully someone with authority to do so can do that for me.
