I have a HP ProBook 450 G4 laptop with a power button issue. It powers on when it wants to. I depress the power button and it does not power on when it has powered on in the past. I set the laptop aside after some extended period of time. Then, it will power back on. I searched the community forum and found one post with this issue, centering around the power button issue.

Yes. The power adapter is working properly. Has there been an updated resolution to this issue? Unless I disassemble the laptop, I do NOT understand the issue with the tape. Is the solution to purchase a new power button or a much bigger problem with the motherboard?

I checked. The laptop is out of warranty. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
