Product: Notebook: 2TA31UT - Dock: 3YE87UT
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We are trying to install a HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2 (3YE87UT) on a HP ProBook 450 G5 (2TA31UT).

 

We cannot find the Intel Thunderbolt Controller Driver anywhere for that ProBook 450 G5. The only close thing was version 17.3.72.250 Rev.A, sp87988.exe at https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-spectre-13-ae000-x360-convertible-pc/1...

 

Or can someone tell us what the exact steps to get this working? We plug in the dock through the Thunderbolt USB Type-C and we can hear hardware detection, but the experience is inconsistent. Meaning, it detects the mouse or doesn't. It sometimes detect one of the monitors, sometimes it doesn't. We also never get prompted for Windows to approve the Thunderbolt device. We have another ProBook configured the same way and everyhting was configured properly on first try. So we are stuck with this new setup.

 

This thread is similar in some ways, regarding the inconsistencies of how the installation should occur, etc.

I just don't understand where I cannot find the drivers for that HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G2 (3YE87UT to begin with. Under its own page? https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-thunderbolt-dock/20075223/model/20075224

There is nothing there regarding Thunderbolt drivers.

 

Or should i be looking under the ProBook driver page which also doesn't have anything for that dock:

(I could find the firmware update for that Dock G2 though..... ??!?!?! But no drivers?????)

Not sure if you saw it or not. 

 

I also looked at the fixes for the BIOS update. What are you implying though?
