My battery was only lasting about 3 to 4 hours of continuous use with Power Saving enabled and at the lowest brightness. So I installed a new 51.3 Wh battery. From looking at the laptop specs, the battery should be good for at least 8 real world hours, but I'm still only getting maybe 4-5 hours.
Is anyone else experiencing this with this laptop?? And have you fixed it? I have the Intel i5 1235u version. 16gbs RAM.
Cheers!

Hello jmatsilv.
Unfortunately this particular Business model is known for its terrible battery runtime. When the Austrians at Notebookcheck reviewed the 440 g9 in 2023 they commented on this issue- see sections "Battery Life" and "Verdict". They reported 5.7hours of "real world" use, and it must be said that their numbers are usually too kind -on the laptop manufacturers.
There is not a lot you can do to fix these issues. Other than the screen, Turbo boost is another big offender so you should turn it off when on battery, although in most systems it's off by default. Further limiting the CPU's performance with 3rd party tools and cutting the max PCIe SSD's speed to 50% (hidden Windows settings) has also been known to help some. Unfortunately in many cases the underlying cause is a bad use of the Intel processor's C-states and this can only be corrected on the UEFI firmware level (by HP).
