Hello !

I want to use Virtualization on my

HP Probook 450 G3, Product T6R25ES, CPU Intel i7-6500U, BIOS 01.55A

Intel Spec declares VT-x and VT-d Capability for CPU.

In BIOS i can configure VT-x, but there's no VT-d Option.

With BCU (Bios Configuration Utility) i can read and set VT-x and VT-d Option.

VT-x is working fine, but VT-d is not usable.

How can I fix this ?

Hello @linux_fan

Please tell me the full product name and product number (p/n) of your notebook. You will find this information on the back of your notebook printed in small letters.

Hello .@Ub6424

i repeat my initial post:

How can I fix this ?

My assumption so far:  you didn't really read my post. Nor do you have any real answer or solution to my question/post. Perhaps you are just a bot ... 😉

Please, give help or stop bloating / spamming my request.

Hello @linux_fan

Your answer is not fair. Think about how you write with other users. If we switch roles now, how would you react if I answered you the same way.

Ok, we start again ...

Why did I recommend you to update the bios first ?

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4123786-2338478-16

Quote: "

Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

  • An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.
  • The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.
  • HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update.

"

Now you can please consider how to proceed.

Hello .@Ub6424

your complain about my writing ist void because my writings are correct, thorough and not offending.

Again, neither you really read my 1st nor you didn't read my last post:

1. i know that the CPU supports VT-x and VT-d

2. BIOS shows VT-x, but no VT-d   -  this is status of all previous and newest BIOS

3. i can read and write VT-d with BCU - BIOs configuration utility, but no effect on VT-d availability

4. the latest BIOS 01.55 ist alread installed, before i did my 1st post

So again, last try:

read, understand, help or stop waisting my time
