@marekpio

It is a series of many different machines. Please check page 2 (top) of the following manual

the question is: how much RAM can you put in the HP Probook 450 G9 -  32GB or 64GB?

Hello marekpio.

Starting with gen8, these Probooks can be upgraded with 64GB of RAM. The 450 g8/g9/g10 laptops are only sold or upgraded to 32GB by HP, while the slightly more expensive 650 siblings (g8/g9/g10) can be purchased with the full 64GB RAM installed. You can compare their spec sheets to see what I mean:

450 g8      650 g8                       450 g9      650 g9                   450 g10   650 g10

Although these pages seem to indicate that the inexpensive 450s are limited to just 32GB, in fact their very similar firmware runs fine with the two 32GB DDR4 modules, and that's why they're sold on Amazon retrofitted with this exact setup, as seen on Laptopmedia's page for the 450G9 (click on "view all results" and you'll see the 64GB versions).

These laptops aren't very picky when it comes to the RAM you install. They can be upgraded even with several brands of gaming RAM modules. However, I advise against it, since you won't get better performance, and there's always a compatibility risk there. Personally, I've used the Kingston cl20 (Fury Impact) modules on these machines with no problems, since they run at the normal voltage and their timings aren't flat (they have 20-22-22 timings and not 20-20-20), but for maximum compatibility with your HP laptop you can just purchase the 64GB kit from Crucial's page....

Have fun upgrading!
