Hi Paul!

 

Of course I know this is not a forum of HP employees. Furthermore, everything you posted is correct and I agree.

However, HP has no reason to help me in this matter since they don't have any 2242 replacement parts for the g8.

And this is the kind of answer I would expect from them. "Your laptop is compatible with blah, blah, blah."

I myself have never encountered mistakes in the manuals, but I agree it's possible. So, I'll mark your post as accepted solution.
