Hi,
I have a dead Spectre X360 sitting in front of me. I have heard that the mobo on these can burn out, but before coming to that conclussion I would like to rule out that power is reaching the board. I have disassembled the unit and have removed the small power input cable (P/N: 801513-001) I have tested the Power supply unit - it is working fine.
However my question is .. Should the LED on the power input cable I have removed still light up when plugged into the psu ?
Thanks

Before you spend a ton of time on this thoroughly check the motherboard around the power jack and under any labels and look for charred capacitors. If this is a 13-4xxx series you might have the charred motherboard issue. But to answer your question if a good AC adapter is plugged into the power jack the light will not come on unless the power jack dongle is plugged intot he motherboard. And if the motherboard is damaged by charred capacitors it may not do so even then even if the power supply is good. Hope that helps.
