So I use HP Support Assistant to keep my drivers up to date, and have noticed that recently it keeps offering me an update for the "Realtek USB and PCIe Media Card Reader Drivers".  I looked at the softpaq number that it offers, and when I choose to keep updating the driver, it keeps swapping between SP80672 and SP84713.

SP84713 looks to be the latest version of the driver (March 2018), but I don't understand why after it has installed that driver, if I run the update, it then offers me the driver SP80672 (July 2017), which is clearly older.

What is going on?  Why does the support assistant app keep switching that driver?

Yep, I have uninstalled the HPSA app.  Instead I have downloaded the Softpaq Download Manager and am now just using that with regards making sure my drivers and firmware are up to date.

Hello Leaskovski,

Honestly, HPSA isn't the most accurate and it's sometimes preferred that the user simply refers to their computer's Software and Drivers page.

What you can try doing is uninstalling HPSA on your computer and reinstalling the latest version: HP Support Assistant.

Regards,

Eddy
