HP ZBook Firefly 15 G7 Mobile Workstation

I bought my Zbook Firefly about six years ago and these features came with it.

They were disabled by HP support about 3 years ago along with HP Wolf Security that suddenly started causing issues, I was wondering if it's to be okay to enable them again? I don't know of they are up to date or if it's not recommended to use them again.

I use ESET Smart Security antivirus.

Are they compatible with windows 11.  I'm still on 10 until I have time to sort that out ?

Hi  @1lorr1e1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out, and it's great to hear that your HP ZBook Firefly 15 G7 Mobile Workstation has been serving you well over the years.

I'd be glad to help check whether re-enabling HP Sure Run, HP Sure Start, HP Sure Click, Sure View, and HP Wolf Security components would be appropriate for your system.

To better understand your setup, could you kindly confirm a few details?

  • Are you currently experiencing any specific issue, or are you simply considering enabling these security features again?
  • Do you still have any HP security applications installed (HP Wolf Security, HP Client Security Manager, HP Sure Click, etc.)?

In the meantime, here are a few things you can safely check:

  1. Kindly open HP Support Assistant and install any available BIOS, firmware, and driver updates.
  2. Open Device Manager and ensure there are no devices showing warning symbols.
  3. Check Apps & Features in Windows and note which HP security applications are currently installed.
  4. If HP Wolf Security was previously disabled because of software conflicts, kindly verify that your current version of ESET Smart Security is fully up to date before making any changes.
  5. Enter the BIOS (F10 during startup) and verify whether HP Sure Start is currently enabled or disabled.

Generally, the HP Sure technologies included with the ZBook line are designed to work with business-class Windows environments, including supported versions of Windows 10 and Windows 11. However, the best recommendation depends on the current BIOS version, installed HP software, and any previous compatibility concerns that led to them being disabled.

Aditionally you can refer to the HP document for HP sure start  - click here

You can also refer to this HP document  HP Business PCs - Upgrade to Windows 11 using HP Sure Recover - click here

I hope this helps.
