HP ProBook 450 G7 Notebook PC

We have a HP USB C G5 Docking Station and a HP Probook 450.

We disconnected the laptop from the docking station last night to use the laptop remotely, and when we pluggied the docking station back into the computer it wouldn't recognise the two external monitors.

This has happened quite a few times; the first time we had the docking station replaced, but one of the monitors still didn't work.  We then had the monitor replaced under warranty and all was great, until last night.

Since then, we have unplugged, replugged in all components.  Turned power on/off - when we turn the power off and then turn it back on, the docking station comes to life for about 20 seconds and then stops working again.  We have also installed all updates available to us but all to no avail.

This is so frustrating, it should just work!

Any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Before fixing the dock, check the monitor again. Can you borrow a monitor from some one ?

Regards.

Hello,

(1) How do you connect the two monitors ? HDMI ?

(2) What type of display cable/quality and length do you use ?

(3) Update your HP ProBook 450 to the latest bios update.

(4) Update your docking station to the latest firmware.

(5) Most problems with docking stations occur when the laptop is disconnected and then go into standby mode and then reconnected to the docking station.

best regards
