HP EliteBook 845 G11

I uninstalled HP Sure Click like I did in the past in a lot of laptops with 0 problems, but yesterday I saw that the threat containment was showing an error, tried to initialize but it stops every time at 36%.

I can't find anywhere to download HP Sure Click, tried to install HP Wolf again, it shows that HP Sure Click is being installed but then there is no HP Sure Click in the control panel programs...

Where can I download HP Sure click??? everywhere I see I need to have an specific employer account or something.

I got this response from HP Wolf:

We understand you're experiencing an issue where HP Wolf Security's threat containment fails to initialize and stops at 36%. Based on the details you've shared and after reviewing the affected device logs, we noticed that the laptops are running Windows 11 Version 24H2 (Build 26100.4770).

This build includes Microsoft update KB5062660, which is known to cause initialization failures in HP Sure Click and HP Wolf Security components. The issue you're encountering appears to be related to this known problem.

HP has published a support article with steps to mitigate this issue:
https://enterprisesecurity.hp.com/s/article/Mitigating-initialization-failures-caused-by-Microsoft-u...

I uninstalled the update KB5062660, restarted the computer, reinitialized the threat containtment and it worked instantly.
To uninstall the update, follow the next steps:

  1. Open settings on your computer
  2. Go to Windows Update
  3. Update history (View Update history, something like that)
  4. Go down until you see uninstall updates, open it
  5. Look for an update with the name KB5062660 and click uninstall
  6. Click uninstall again

After restart, open HP Wolf, click on the box of the Threat containment and then click on initialize, now it will finish 😄

  2. KB2565063 - Visual C++ Red.. x86
  3. KB5056570 - Update for Win
