HP ZBook 17 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Sorry for the lame question, I looked online and wasn't able to find the answer.

Is the G5 dock compatible with the ZBook 17 G4 and what size power supply is required? I'm working with a user whose laptop doesn't charge through the dock. He has a G5 dock with a 120w power supply and I'd like to verify if that should work or if it requires a bigger power supply.

Thanks.

I found the answer in the link you posted!

Under the compatibility section for the HP USB-C® Dock G5 it says "If your HP notebook requires more than 100W of power, you must use your notebook power supply in addition to the USB-C dock connection."

Thanks!

Does this mean a 120w power supply on a G5 dock won't work with the ZBook 17 G4?

We're limited to what's listed in our companie's catalog but I want to inform the user correctly if what he has should work or not.
