Hello everybody,
My HP Zbook Studio G5 laptop randomly freezes once or twice a day for about 10 to 15 seconds (8 hours working day). The mouse pointer and sound freezes, which makes the laptop unusable. This is very annoying.
Does anybody know what can possibly cause this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Max

Hello @Max1995
HP has created detailed articles with solutions you can try to fix your problem - please, follow all the steps:
- In situations when it randomly freezes or locks up >> http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=pclockupfreeze.net&as=true§ion=ccweb&sfs=tdoc&lc=en
- In situations when a certain app causes the problem to freeze or lock up >> http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=pclockupfreeze.net&as=true§ion=ccweb&sfs=tdoc&lc=en&language...
Please, let me know how it goes. Provide as many details as possible

Thank you for your reaction!
I ran the hardware diagnostics in the BIOS and this hardware check came with the error of a blown fuse in the battery. Today the battery was replaced by HP and now the diagnostic tool does not generate an error anymore.
Hopefully this will fix the freeze problem. I will let it know if the freezes still occur.
However, I have another strange problem with my G2 docking station. The power button on the docking station will only turn the laptop on when the lid is not closed. The laptop does not react to the power button when the lid is closed. I have this problem since a couple of weeks. I tested another HP Zbook Studio G5 laptop with my G2 docking station and this laptop turned on without a problem when the lid was closed. Does anybody know what can cause this problem?

Hello @Max1995
With regards to the docking station and power-on issue, try updating your BIOS to rule it out of this problem >> https://support.hp.com/sk-en/document/c00042629
BIOS/UEFI update is important and if something fails, the PC might not start properly. I do not say it will fail 100%, just happens rarely if something goes wrong. Data recovery will be somewhat more difficult from end user perspective.
Make sure you back up all you important data prior to the BIOS/UEFI update just in case something fails
