I have a brand new hp elitebook 649 g11, which uses USB C to charge. I've bought an HP Elite USB-C Docking Station G2 which was made to function specifically with the Elitebooks. It worked fine untill I realized it doesn't charge the laptop which was part of the whole idea.

It runs Windows 10 Enterprise. As I received the laptop by my employer I have limited privileges.

Whenever I disconnect the docking station and reconnect the system goes on about 'bitlocker'.

From what I've read, and as far as I have understood looking into this bitlocker thingie, there might be a conflict in the boot process and the docking station preventing the docking station to actually charge the laptop. For that I needed to go into the BIOS.

Due to the limited privileges I was unable to get into the BIOS, so I called the IT department, who claimed it was impossible to use this docking station to charge the laptop and was merely a hub.

This sounds illogical to me, so could anyone confirm for me they are either right or wrong?
