Hello everyone, I make use of an EliteBook X360 830 G6 and I recently developed issues with my touchscreen. This issues started after i put the system in sleep mode for almost 15hrs It's unresponsive to touches and that's very frustrating because the touch makes my work easier. I've tried everything possible to get it to work but nothing works. Everything is updated and everything I have tried on the internet so far didn't works. Please what is wrong and hw do i fix it

Welcome to HP Support Community, @Phillips_.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP EliteBook X360 830 G6's touchscreen is unresponsive following a long period in sleep mode, here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:

  1. Restart the Device: Sometimes a simple restart is enough to resolve touchscreen issues. Shut down your laptop completely and then turn it back on.

  2. Calibrate the Touchscreen:

    • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound.
    • Under Tablet PC Settings, click on Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.
    • Follow the instructions to calibrate the touchscreen.
  3. Update Touchscreen Drivers:

    • Visit the HP support page for driver updates related to your EliteBook model.
    • Install any available updates for the touchscreen driver.
  4. Check Device Manager:

    • Open Device Manager and look for Human Interface Devices.
    • Under it, there should be HID-compliant touch screen. Right-click it and ensure that it is enabled. If there is an option to update the driver, select it.
    • Roll Back Drivers: If the touchscreen stopped working after an update, you might want to roll back to the previous version of the driver from the Device Manager.
  5. Disable and Enable the Touchscreen:

    • In Device Manager, right-click HID-compliant touch screen and select Disable device.
    • After a few seconds, right-click it again and select Enable device.
  6. Reset Power Settings:

    • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
    • Select your current plan and choose Change plan settings.
    • Click on Restore default settings for this plan.
  7. System Restore Point:

    • If the issue started recently, consider performing a system restore to a point before the problem occurred.
  8. BIOS Update:

    • Check the HP support website to see if there is a BIOS update for your model. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve hardware compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
