HP 470 G9 17 inch Notebook PC (4Z7D3AV)

Dear Community,

I am looking for help concerning issue combination Docking Station HP universal USB-C multiport HUB (50H55AA) with HP 470 G9 17 Zoll Notebook-PC (4Z7D3AV). I have bought this Hub because I have checked up at HP Product Content Browser compatibility with my Laptop. Then I interconnect it to each other with two monitors on Hub on HDMI Port and DP-Port and Monitors show message no signal on sreen. The laptop does not even give feedback that the docking station was connected via USB-C and the Laptop is brand new. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me or maybe offer another solution for running with 2 external monitors.

Its specs

        https://www.hp.com/emea_africa-en/products/laptops/product-details/product-specifications/2101428873

which shows it has

  • 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate;
  • 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate;
  • 1 Stereo headphone/microphone combo jack;
  • 1 HDMI 1.4;
  • 1 AC power

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

For more connectivity, please use

I bought on Black Friday the HP 470 G9 (Windows 11) and was offered Multiport Hub HP Univ USB-C, which has a HDMI and Displayport connector.

Unfortunately, I don't get any video signal - and as I read in other threads it seems like the 470 has no video signal on USB-C.

This is a big disappointment when HP offers a docking station which can't be used in for the purpose it was bought.

From the following specs

I can't see  its USB-C would support USB Power Delivery and Alt mode. You have to use HDMI port to connect to an external monitor.
