Microsoft Windows 11

Purchased a x360 elite g2.

Been nothing but issues and I unfortunately cannot return to seller.

W11 system

Battery at 92%

Use for say 45 minutes and it self powers off.

Charge port lights flashing 7 times when you try to restart or hold on button for 15 seconds etc.

Last time I left on charge 2 days.

When I picked it up to take to a check shop it started off one press of the button.

Charger is fine

This problem is a nightmare.

The battery has done one cycle.

I had a brand new battery installed.

The chap/outlet that sold the tablet to me under warranty says it a new battery in it.

Not so.

He was confused by the 92% and I cycle shown in the HP battery diagnostic.

What gave me a clue was the time taken to charge. Days.

Plus how hot the thing was getting.

Bottom line is a new battery resolved the issue..

Works like a charm now.

(I did remove the Microsoft compliant battery and allowed it to reinstall, but cannot say it assisted. Because I did this after the new battery was up and running)

Hello Dallen52,

(1) Open

Windows Device Manager

  >> Batteries

    >> right-click Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery

      >> click Uninstall device and confirm

(2) Then shutdown your notebook, plugin your AC adapter, charge and and wait 2 hours (don't start your operating system!)

(3) Start your notebook operating system, Windows will automatically reinstall it, no worry.

(4) Now the battery is calibrated and your system should work more stable.

That's it.

Please report your results.

best regards

Unfortunately it's dead as a dodo.

So cannot try the windows suggested fix.

I have committed to a new battery (on order) and the technician says he will install and reset/calibrate when he installs.

I will obviously post the results.

so please mark my first posts from me as Accept as Solution to say thank you to me.

The decision to have the technician replace the battery is great.

Good luck
