EliteBook 850 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am at Windows 10 Pro 21H1 and would like upgrading to Windows 11 Pro.

My system is presently not compatible due to

1) TPM is at 1.2  needs to be at 2.0

2) Intel CPU i5-6300U is not supported.

In preparation (in case the processor becomes compatible) I am trying to upgrade  my Infinion TPM from 1.2 to 2.0 but the HPTPM Configuration Utility crashes with error code 306.

 Can someone with some expertise tell me why it fails?

Thank you in advance!

@JJinCHAT:

I updated TPM to 2.0 on my Elitebook 840 G3 a while ago. You used SP87753 in your attempt to update to 2.0, right? Go to c:\SWSetup\sp87753 and click on the User Guide and scroll down to the Returned Codes. Error code 306 is listed there. It says "VTx is currently enabled." It appears Intel Virtualization Technology (VTx) is enabled in your BIOS. If so, you can disable it and try to update TPM again and see what will happen.
