Hello Everyone! 2/6/2023
I own an HP AMD Silver 30500 Silver with Reader Graphics and 4.00 GB with a 64-Bit operating system - no pen or touch input is available for this screen. I was then given two 24-inch DELL Monitors and would like to set up at least 1 Dell monitor with my HP Laptop monitor, so I can read and see objects in the Dell Monitor better since it's much bigger in size. My problem is that I don't know which type of cable to purchase. My two Dell Monitors have one HDMI input on the back of monitor and the inputs on my HP Laptop consist of 2 USC input ports, an audio input, and a Display Monitor input on the right side of my HP Laptop and one USB-C input along with some type of mini-scan card reader. Could anyone in this forum tell me the correct type of cable end and/or connector ends, I should purchase to connect 1 or 2 of the Dell Monitors to my HP Laptop? My name is Patrick, and my email address is: [personal info removed] Thank you!

Your machine is an HP Laptop - 14-dk1003dx which is a member of the HP Laptop 14-dk1xxx family. Its specs

It has
- 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate;
- 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate;
- 1 HDMI 1.4b;
- 1 RJ-45;
- 1 AC smart pin;
- 1 headphone/microphone combo
Its USB-C port is hope less which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use
- Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
- Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
You can use standard HDMI version 2 cable to connect your monitor to your machine.
