HP Envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an issue that seems to be a commonality with HP Envy X360 computer.  My Left casing/hinge area seems to be defective - when I close the laptop the hing and screen come apart.    I have not dropped, damaged, or handled the computer roughly.   I do not use it in the flipped tablet position.  This is very upsetting, as I have seen that this has been an issue since 2015 with other users, and it is a design flaw that apparently has not been fixed.  The computer is 4 years old and I use the computer daily for my work.  It would be greatly appreciated if someone from HP could help resolve this problem.

Hi Glanspin2,

Generally, this kind of problem appears when you don't open correctly your laptop. As it appears on the left hinge, I assume that you open your laptop with your hand on the top right corner of the screen.

By the way, I don't blame you or consider you as guilty of anything, I only want to give you advice for further use.

System and network administrator since 2004. Sometimes I help you, sometimes you help me. If my answer helped you, feel free to thumb up 🙂
