How do you tell if Number Lock is on or off prior to touching a number? If the number lock is on if you hit a key you get a number...Number lock off it and it NAVIGATES to a different part of the page!!!! How do you tell if Number Lock is on or off on a HP Laptop? Any community help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
- Could you please share a picture of the keyboard?
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Type one character, then press 4 on num pad:
- If a character is typed in the field, then num lock is off.
- If cursor moves to left then num lock is on.
The Num Lock key enables and disables the numeric pad. When Num Lock is enabled, you can use the numbers on the keypad.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
