Elitebook 2560p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Bought a second hand Hp Elitebook 2560p  just two weeks ago only to find out that there is a bois password. Any one with the idea od how to clear the bios admin password?

Insert clean USB flash drive.

 

Then run USB Image tool.

 

Choose the flash drive then click on RESTORE.

 

After restore remove flash drive.

 

Insert  flash drive into locked laptop and boot.”If HDD is installed remove before booting.”

 

At C:\OUTPUT   type CD..   “Then hit enter”

 

Then type HPBR    “Then hit enter”

 

First thing is to save your settings.

 

Select #3 re-program.

 

Press “S” to save system information.

 

Then type HPBR    “Then hit enter”

 

Select   “FIRST RUN”

 

Then select model.

 

After reboot repeat same above but this  time  SELECT “SECOND RUN”

Thanks,have been able to clear the password besides am now faced with reconfiguring the system info as i get "system information invalid error" anytime the system start up. Have tried various methods but still fails. Any help on it please

I am sorry to here this and it is my fault.

 

That is an old step by step and one option was left out.

 

First thing is to save your settings.

 

Select #3 re-program.

 

Press “S” to save system information.

 

Type HPBR and hit enter.

 

Did you use a HDD or USB flash drive to remove the password???

 

Do you live in the US or Canada???

I used HDD to remove the bios.

 

I live in Ghana.

 

On system info, i have a dxdiag txt file to use as reference.

In the "First run" list, I do not have my model, EliteBook 2560p, which model is chosen as equivalent, I tried all listed models but none is working.
