Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, a software that I use requires me to have a dedicated video memory of >256mb after a recente software upgrade (I used the software before without problems, downgrading is not possible). Currently my dedicated video memory is fixed to 128mb.

Details of the machine:

HP Probook 640 G5

Windows 10

Intel UHD Graphics 620

RAM 16 GB

I know that it is not possible to physically increase the dedicated video memory, however I know the software works on this machine. So I only need the software to think that 256mb is available.

I tried the following methods to increase the dedicated video memory:

1. BIOS > Advanced > Device configurations > Video memory size > 512 mb (dropdown menu) > Reboot (as per this guide)

2. Register-editor > DedicatedSegmentSize > 4096 MB > Reboot (as per this guide

3. This PC > Properties > Advanced system settings > Performance > Custom size (minimum 10.000 mb, maximum 20.000 mb) >Reboot (as per this guide)

All three methods did not work, the dedicated video memory stays at 128 mb.

Are there any other way to increase the dedicated video memory so I can keep using the software without buying a new laptop?

Thank you for your help.

All 1, 2 and 3 won't work because Integrated video (iGPU) does not have room for keeping VRAM, it relies on System. System will work this out and allocate/assign spare/available system RAM to VRAM automatically when required up to max limit. System will also take VRAM back when required (the number is dynamic, not fix). During the good old days, we could do this from BIOS but now OS is smarter.

The following document shows Max shared RAM for Intel iGPU versions

Thank you for the quick reply @Banhien,

I see on the page you referred to that the maximum amount of graphics memory is limited to 1/2 of the system memory. Which means that on my system I can use 8 GB of graphics memory. Then, what I don't understand is why only 128 mb is allocated to dedicated video memory? Is there really no way to get that number up so I can keep using the software?
